3 Design Trends That Will Make a Statement in the New Year

Highpoint Market 2022

Trends are fabulous for inspiration, however they are best incorporated into design projects mixed with timeless pieces. They add fresh style to create an updated twist on classic styles.

We were so lucky to have the opportunity to travel to High Point Market in North Carolina this fall! Market is where vendors from across the country showcase all their new product offerings, and designers can tour dozens of showrooms all in one weekend. Seeing so many brands at once allows us to easily spot trends.

We have been seeing texture overload, rattan and cane furniture, greens, boucle, natural woods and in general a more casual vibe to interiors. Here are a few eye-catching trends that may inspire your next project…

1. Green is the New Blue

We saw the mixing of many shades of greens all within the same room. For example, a deep forest green and white wallpaper pairing with a mid tone emerald sofa. It’s is a color of nature that is relaxing and refreshing.

2. Textures Everywhere

We got to see so many textures - such as the use of cane in furniture for a natural look and beads in lighting. Boucle was the big textile trend because it gives off a tactile vibe.

3. Modern Coastal

Gone are the days of just blue and white everywhere, modern coastal is all about light, airy, clean lined and textural. White is everywhere but it’s mixed with texture for added interest. Think of pendants that have jute wrapped around a white plaster texture.

Thank you for joining us on this journey through these 3 trends for 2023. Trends will come and go yet as long as they are thoughtfully included -they add a lot of fun to interiors!

Cheers,

Mimi
