I also really appreciated her open mindedness around the nature of our engagement. I moved from NYC to Austin in 2021 and especially needed help with deciding on placement and layout of what furniture and art I’d bring to my new home and what new pieces I’d need to source. Many designers I reached out to were hesitant to partner with me unless they had full scale and full reign over a project (and honestly were pretty snotty / snooty about it). From the start, Mimi was open and enthusiastic to working together and she added so much value in making our house a home. She created incredibly helpful blueprints / layouts for all of the rooms in our new home (even our back patio) - including items we were bringing from NYC and dimensions for new items we’d need. She helped me select awesome wallpaper for my closet, laundry room, and accent wall behind our bar…she helped pick the most gorgeous deep navy paint color for the primary bedroom…and helped select and source beautiful window treatments that really completed the look (and she hooked me up with awesome professionals to handle the installation / execution perfectly and pretty quickly across all of those). She assisted with wall placement of my art (HUGE help, not something I could’ve intuitively done solo) and designed a gallery wall of family photos (and again brought in an incredible team to handle the installation). While I ended up sourcing most of the new furniture I needed (because that’s something I personally enjoy), I had trouble finding the perfect sectional couch. Mimi brought me to a trade-only show room where we were able to find the perfect design that exceeded my expectations - it was big enough, with a chic design and high performance fabric, delivered to my home within a couple of days, and totally within my budget (and actually a bit less expensive than options I considered from RH!). I highly recommend Mimi as a fantastic designer to partner with…no matter how big, small, or ongoing your project may be!”

When I first began looking for a designer, I went through portfolio after portfolio of work that was nice but not “me”. “Working with Mimi was incredible! We are thrilled with the design she created for our master bedroom: serene and sophisticated but with fun fabrics and accents that make it feel like home. She was the ultimate professional and a responsive communicator, which made the whole process easy and enjoyable. After an in-depth phone meeting, during which she asked lots of questions to get a sense of what we wanted (remarkable, considering we ourselves didn’t know!), and what our budget was, she then used software that allowed us not only to view her design options but make comments to her and swap out individual pieces of furniture – an amazing way to see the effect of each change on the whole room and total budget.
